Quotes from Lauren Cordwell, CEO of RWAV:
“Every resident of rural Victoria deserves access to quality healthcare. This year’s record number of nominees and registrants for the Victorian Rural Health Awards highlights our rural healthcare professionals’ outstanding work and resilience. Building strong relationships with local healthcare providers is essential for all local communities, significantly impacting the lives of patients and their families. These Awards underscore the fundamental role of our healthcare professionals in fostering vibrant communities, and we aim to inspire more health professionals to live and work in rural Victoria.”
“Tonight, we introduced a brand-new accolade – the Outstanding Contribution by a Mentor or Supervisor Award! This inaugural award celebrates the exceptional dedication and efforts of mentors and supervisors, recognising their invaluable contributions to the field. Mentoring and supervision are critical roles that inspire others to follow in their footsteps and enable practitioners to meet their credentialing requirements. This award aims to foster the growth and sustainability of Victoria’s rural health workforce.”
“We have updated the Outstanding Contribution by a Rural Health Team Award to the Outstanding Contribution by a Rural Multidisciplinary Health Team Award. In rural health, multidisciplinary teams represent an innovative model of integrated care, where practitioners from various health disciplines collaborate to achieve better patient outcomes. This change reflects the evolving nature of rural healthcare under challenging circumstances and the importance of adopting the best models of care to maximise the impact on patients.”
“The Length of Service Award is a testament to the incredible dedication of General Practitioners (GPs) who have devoted over 35 years of their careers to rural healthcare. This year, we are thrilled to honour 6 exceptional GPs, marking a historic milestone for rural and regional Victoria.”
