RWAV is a Child Safe Organisation.
RWAV administers funding for programs and services directed at or offered to children or has a special application to children.
Together with these responsibilities, we are committed to ensuring that every child is safe, involved, respected, and empowered.
We pay particular attention to the needs of Aboriginal, disabled, culturally and linguistically diverse, and lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and intersex children and young people, as well as those unable to live at home.
RWAV is committed to preventing child abuse, recognising dangers early, and eliminating or minimizing those risks. When we are concerned about a child’s safety, we have a legal and moral responsibility to alert authorities, which we strictly adhere to.
RWAV has zero tolerance for child abuse. Any complaints and safety concerns will be taken very seriously and in accordance with our robust standards and processes. RWAV has stringent human resource and recruitment practices to reduce the risk of child abuse and is committed to regularly training and educating our board members, staff, and volunteers on child abuse risks.
RWAV has specific policies and procedures in place that support our board members, staff, and volunteers to achieve these commitments.
