The emergency flood situation that has been affecting rural communities all over Victoria keeps intensifying as it becomes “too late” for many people to leave their homes.
The state currently has fourteen major emergency warnings in place, with the majority of them focusing on the northeast of the state where the Goulburn, Campaspe and Murray rivers are reaching their highest levels.
This crisis comes at a time when the east coast is bracing itself for more thunderstorms this week, and Victoria is facing dire flood warnings for the next few days. Many Victorian communities have been affected by flash flooding as a result of torrential rains hitting parts of Victoria.
There are many people in rural communities that have been adversely affected by this storm already, and our hearts go out to them.
Please reach out and let us know if we can provide any assistance in supporting you in the RWAV programs, including GP locum and outreach programs.
We hope you stay safe and dry during this storm.
