RWAV places RACGP and ACCRM Fellowed GPs (or equivalent) across rural and regional Victoria. We are looking for Fellowed GP’s with sound experience and at times the ability to work in a solo capacity. In Victoria, GPs who have not achieved fellowship are not eligible to locum due to supervision and mentoring requirements. RWAV is a not-for-profit government funded organisation therefore our services are free to primary health services, unlike commercial agencies.
Working as an independent locum doctor, you can work as much or as little as you can offer depending on your availability. Independent GP locums are not employed directly by RWAV, you are open to negotiate your own sessional rates of pay. VMO and on-call rates are paid in addition and vary between health services. You will be provided with accommodation and reimbursed for reasonable travel expenses during your placement.
You will provide care and support to rural communities in some of Victoria’s most treasured destinations, giving you the chance to explore and appreciate these unique areas.
RWAV can assist and support you with all aspect of administration and placement negotiations.
