Are you a nurse looking to attend an upcoming Australian Primary Health Care Nurses Association (APNA)? The Health Workforce Scholarship Program (HWSP) is the newest initiative by the Australian Government Department of Health to improve access to health services in rural and remote areas.
The goal of the scholarship program is to help medical and health professionals access ongoing study and development. Under the program, health and medical professionals working in rural and remote locations (MMM 3-7) can apply for scholarships and bursaries to pursue further education or attend training courses.
In May, RWAV went on the road and attended the APNA conference in Brisbane, Queensland. Over 600 primary health nursing professionals attended the three-day event.
“RWAV welcomed the opportunity to meet nursing professionals and discuss career opportunities,” said Angela Phillips, RWAV recruitment program officer. “Attending the event also helped RWAV to communicate how it can support and provide financial incentives to primary care nurses working in rural and regional Victoria.”
