The Board of RWAV recognises the importance of self-determination and cultural safety for First Nations communities in the provision of health care.
As part of our commitment to reconciliation, expressed through our Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan, we work to ensure our outreach and recruitment programs enable First Nations communities in Victoria to have better access to primary and specialist health care. We are guided by our close collaboration with Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) and the Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (VACCHO) to support the health workforce and holistic health needs of First Nations communities across Victoria.
We accept the gracious invitation from the Uluru Statement from the Heart to walk with the Traditional Custodians of this country and support them in their progress towards a better future.
RWAV supports the Yes vote for a First Nations Voice to Parliament. This will enable First Nations Peoples to have their say on the policies and issues that impact them and their communities.
