Rural Workforce Agency Victoria is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Trevor Carr as our new Chief Executive Officer effective 30 September 2019.
After a comprehensive recruitment process, the RWAV board identified Mr Carr as the most outstanding candidate given his experience and expertise not only in the health sector but also in the not-for-profit and financial services industries.
Dr Yousuf Ahmad, Chair of the RWAV Board, said Mr Carr stood out with his academic background, broad governance experience working in the rural health sector, and having sound knowledge of the political and financial environment. âMr Carr will bring a new dynamic to RWAV as we continue to pursue our vision to improve health for all in rural, regional and Aboriginal communities across Victoria.â
Dr Ahmad also thanked Chris Scott for his work as interim CEO. âWe thank Chris for his hard work over the last three months. Knowing RWAV was in safe hands gave the board time to go through a thorough recruitment process.â
Mr Carr is the former Chief Executive Officer of the Victorian Healthcare Association and Leading Age Services Australia [Victoria]. More recently he has been a company director with several health, community and financial services institutions.
Responding to the announcement, Mr Carr said that he was excited to be returning to a leadership position within rural health. âRWAV plays an important role in enabling sustainable access to primary healthcare across rural Victoria and I am looking forward to leading RWAV.â
