We are urgently seeking locum support for the bushfire emergency in Mallacoota. Five Fellowed GPs are needed at Mallacoota Medical Centre to provide urgent emergency care in this severely bushfire affected region.
Urgent assistance required:
5 Fellowed GPs
– 3 GPs required until the end of February
– 2 GPs required until the end of April
Ideally:
Rural and remote doctors who are all rounders
Mental health experience doctors
GP – elderly, acute care etc.
Please note that Mallacoota is in a state of emergency. The environment is smokey, and there currently is no power – the medical centre is running on a generator. Overnight staffing will be required onsite, and accommodation within walking distance of the centre will be arranged. If there is anyone in your network who may be able to assist, please forward this message on.
There is a great need for GPs to provide their services in rural and regional Victoria during the summer season, and medical coverage will be required over the next few months. Any time you can take to provide your invaluable services would be greatly appreciated during this critical period. Contact Lexi Economou at locum@rwav.com.au or call 03 9349 7800 to express your interest.
